How will the trend towards new “cleaner” energy sources, regulatory tightening in CO2 emissions, & advancements in electric mobility, impact the traditional refining & petrochemical industry?
The global shift to a low-carbon economy has significant implications for refiners, which must make long-term investments based on their expectations of demand for their products. While oil demand might peak in the next decade, it will continue to meet a significant share of total energy demand for decades to come. This panel will seek to address the challenges for the industry going forward, what the next steps are for refiners and what the future of the industry looks like.
