Datuk Dr. Hj Hazland bin Abg Hipni is a distinguished medical professional and dedicated politician with over three decades of experience in serving his community. He embarked on his academic journey at St Joseph's Primary School. In 1990, he achieved his MBBS degree from University of Malaya in Medicine and Surgery. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Hazland has been the recipient of several prestigious awards that recognize his invaluable contributions. In 2018, he was honored with the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) award, followed by the Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS) award in 2020. Driven by a passion for public service, he actively engaged in politics for an impressive thirty years. From voluntarily assisting former State Assembly Members (ADUN) between 1991 and 1999 to his tenure as the ADUN for N5 Demak Laut since 2011, his dedication to his constituents is undeniable. His political journey also included roles such as Chief of the Demak Laut PBB Branch , Member of Tye Central Working Committee PBB Sarawakand his current position as Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability since January 2022. Alongside his political endeavors, Dr. Hazland has made significant strides in his professional and association affiliations. He began as a Medical Officer at various healthcare institutions, including Hospital Umum Sarawak and Hospital Sentosa. He progressed to serve as a Private Medical Practitioner at Kumpulan Klinik Kotaraya since 1995. Notably, he extended his influence to community development by serving as a Counselor for MBKS and as a member of the Lembaga Amanah TEGAS. Moreover, he serves as a patron for the Persatuan Veteran Angkatan Tentera in Kuching and provides advisory expertise to Permodalan Demak Laut Bhd.
