Purandar’s forte is Technology and Innovation. With a Ph.D. in Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, for him the entire professional journey of 32+ years so far, has been in this role, in different capacities. Purandar led innovation to value add in business through identifying game changing technologies, exploring radical approaches, creating networks with knowledge bases / institutions / accelerators to shape new opportunities and to formulate path forward. These efforts led to a bouquet of exciting new business propositions in a diverse range of domains. Further on from fundamental research in flame speeds, Purandar is globally acclaimed in Climate change, Clean technologies, CCU, Hydrogen, Energy Transition, Alternate Energy and Bio Fuels, and Electric Vehicles. Purandar brings this entire suit of his expertise into his current role as Head – Innovation, Alternate Energy & ESG in the senior management of $ 22 Bn Multi-National, Nayara Energy, to shape-up and bring to realisation the game changing aspirations of the company in Oil & Gas and Energy domain. Professionally Purandar is a lifetime fellow of LEAD, Rockefeller Foundation, US and a recipient of the coveted “Distinguished Alumni Award,” from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is also a visiting facility at IIT, Bombay, Mumbai, a Global expert with – World Petroleum Council, Asian Refinery and downstream Eco-system, India’s Top National Industry bodies like CII (Confederation of Indian Industries), and FIPI (Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry). Purandar has been credited to have formulated and presently being practised, measurable Climate conforming rating system for the industry as well. Purandar has also been an active researcher having more than 85 publications in international and national journals, conferences, technical reports, books and has guided 4 M.Sc. and 2 M.BA Projects besides receiving several national and international fellowships and awards including that from UGC, CSIR, MNRE, and Govt. of India.
