PTTGC announces intention to reduce greenhouse gas, solve climate crisis
Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer and President (CEO) of Ptt Global Chemical PCL, attended the recent Climate Action Leaders Forum, organised by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, Faculty of Environment and Resources, Mahidol University, and the United Nations Development Program.
The event aimed to create awareness and create a platform of communication on climate change for leaders from various sectors to exchange ideas and experiences on solving problems, and to ultimately lead to a concrete reduction of greenhouse gas emissions for Thailand.
At the event, Dr. Kongkrapan spoke about GC’s role in working towards becoming a Net Zero Emission organisation. He stressed that GC had been continuously focused on sustainability for over a decade, and had integrated and driven this sustainability on a corporate and strategic level.
He added that GC’s production process emphasised the need to operate with transparency, accountability, and the delivery of superior products, adding that partners, stakeholders, and the environment had to grow together in a sustainable manner that included the adoption of the Circular Economy.
In addition, GC announced its goal of “Together to Net Zero”, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2030, and to completely achieve net zero emissions by 2050. This is in line with Thailand’s goal of reaching Net Zero by 2065.
